In 1990, Virginia (Ginny) Lefever was convicted of aggravated murder in the death of her husband. The prosecution argued that Ginny, a registered nurse, had caused her husband’s overdose. However, the Ginny always insisted he committed suicide. She was sentenced to life in prison. In 2010, her conviction was vacated after it was discovered that the medical expert that testified at her trial lied about his credentials.
Ginny has spoken many times at the Innocence Network Conference and other symposia. She was also featured on Amanda Knox’s podcast and interviewed on television about The Pruno Fund.
